about shira

My love of all things bridal began in elementary school when I dressed up as a bride for Halloween in a “gown” made by my mother. I’m a seasoned bridesmaid, and a sucker for a great first dance song, anything calligraphed, classic photographs, family heirlooms, and a well-made cocktail.

I’m also the former Real Weddings Editor of Martha Stewart Weddings and am here to put the knowledge and expertise that I gained over the decade-plus I worked at the brand to good use.

I’ve seen (and heard and written) about my fair share of weddings, and it never gets old. Because I love weddings. And I love the people who make them happen. I think all of us need a little help at some point—be it with a round of honest feedback or encouragement, some hardcore brainstorming, or a bit of hands-on assistance with a particular area of your business—like curating a gallery or styling the stationery suite for a photograph.

Editorial projects include: Domino’s premiere wedding issue in 2019 and serving as a real weddings contributor for domino.com, writing real wedding features for Harper's Bazaar, the 2019/2020 annual issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, and being a Carats & Cake contributor.

(sheer-a-mee-SUE): your wedding pick me up.

tiramisu translates to "pick me up" thanks to the espresso soaked into the ladyfingers.
in the world of weddings and dessert menus, that'd be me.
